The C-47 conference table is close to 3.6m in length which presented some design challenges. A 14mm thick tempered glass was to be used for the top surface but because a 3.6m piece that big would weigh close to 200kgs it was decided that it would be split in half and two pieces of glass would instead be used as it is more practical. This meant that a support structure would need to be constructed in the centre of the table where to two pieces of glass join. Reinforced frame was constructed through the legs and elevator with a support and glass mounting frame in the centre that matches the style of the elevator.
